The story behind Young Reindeer Finnmark II

Storbukt (Stuorragohppi) is a peaceful coastal Sámi village in Finnmark where the unique coastal environment directly shapes reindeer’s living conditions. For generations, sea Sámi culture, fishing, and reindeer husbandry have adapted to these rugged shores, where the animals rely on the seasonal pastures along the cold Arctic Ocean.

I captured this fine-art portrait to highlight the fragile beauty of the Arctic fauna and the ecosystems that depend on them. The photograph focuses entirely on the young reindeer, beautifully isolated against a soft, muted coastal background under the natural Arctic light.
This piece belongs to a dedicated series of Arctic wildlife portraits. For this specific motif, the sustainable birch wood panels enhance the natural, organic feel. The wood grain shines through each print, ensuring that every limited edition piece is unique without the need for custom framing.
